Green Heron

::Green Heron (Butorides virescens):: The green heron has a habit of using bugs (and sometimes bread) to lure fish to its vicinity. It watches the bait as intently as any fisherman, and when the water ripples and the bug moves, the heron expertly darts its beak into the water and claims its prize. The process takes a long time, with several misses. The heron moves the bug around to different spots, trying different approaches with utmost patience and fierce attention. Nature does so many remarkable, tiny things when we’re (usually) not watching.
